Collage Obsession Challenge

I found this one also tricky. I think I have a great degree of the "bah-humbug's" at the moment and don't feel very easter-ish. anyway the Collage Obsession challenge for this week.. we were given this pic below

and my collage came out like this

Digital Challenge time!

So this week Kimmie gave us the challenge of the word "soft" which I found kinda tricky, so I went along the lines of feminine ballerinas! I've used some freebie elements, some stuff I bought last night at pickleberrypop, elements from elegias shop and some from Itkupilli’s shop Here it is -

Gone crazy at Pickleberrypop

Sooo.. I sold a few things on Ebay recently.. tools furniture and assorted junk I haven't used for ages... has cash sitting in my Paypal account. True to reality and not being able to actually keep HOLD of money I visited pickleberrypop and went crazy buying digital scrapbooking kits!

I am currently watching the links all pile into my inbox and now (at 11.30pm at night) itching to get designing and doodling with them. If you are into digi-collage, scrapbooking or cardmaking, you may want to visit this site and grab a few of the kits to have a play with.

Some of the kits I purchased cost like $2.00!!! and they are bursting with papers and elements!

Another fabulous site I have encountered on my scrap travels is Elegias shop - her artwork is delicious and I'm trying to think of what else I can flog on E-bay so I can snavvle up some of these sheets too! p.s - awesome backgrounds!

I had a crappy week

I really have had an ordinary week, stressful, upsetting.. and not even thinking about it, I created this morbid and dark pit-of-my-soul piece... I then looked at it and thoughht I needed a stiff drink and maybe some time off.

The mind is an interesting thing... and quite opposed to my usual cheery and bright, colourful creations.. I came up with this. I don't hate it, i'm just not sure if I like it.

If you're into digital art ...

Digital Whisper - I haven't been a member for long but am totally getting into the weekly challenges and seeing some of the gorgeous work done by some very talented creative people out in cyberspace.

You have your own little area on Digital Whisper, where you can upload albums and pics of your work, share with others, partake in forum convos, join interest groups, chat... and of course check out the work everyone does. LINK HERE>

We had a challenge a week or two back that had to include a little tree supplied to us, this was mine!

A combo of freebies here, called Bayou picnic!

Artwork Jewellery

I'm itching to get these pieces photographed. last week when I actually had five minutes to myself - I sat and made some jewellery pieces from my own digital art collages! I'm happy with how they've turned out, and I promise to get pics up soon and maybe put some in my currently-empty etsy shop.

"Angelica" made an appearance in a couple of rings, and with it being my first real red-hot go at resin pouring, I couldnt be happier with the end result. Hopefully somebody else likes them too!

Something for my Mum

As my digital projects often do start as me just fluffing around with an image... I found the main photograph here on my Hard-drive a week or so ago and thought it deserved preservation, so I sat and pondered its fate.
The pic shows my Mother, her brother and her parents. By the look of it picnic-ing somewhere and at a guess I thought it was probably around 1947. Shh nobody tell my Mum that I blabbed to the world how old she is!

So I had a digi-play around with the image and came up with the block below. After feeling I had accompoished something with this, I printed it out, whacked it onto a coaster blank, and coated it in a layer of resin. It's awaiting one more drizzle of clear resin and then it can go in a parcel to my Mum.

Spring Challenge - Mind Wide Open

Again we have spun around to another monthly challenge at Mind Wide Open, with this challenge entitled "Spring"! Predictable maybe, but I began my submission for the challenge using birdies & wreaths and the spring element given to us for the challenge. Love how it ended up, even I did find getting into the spirit of Spring, tricky! Thanks to Graphics Fairy for the lovely image freebies!

Collage Projects

Each month at Mind Wide Open we are given a challenge, to create an artistic composition using an element of Gails choosing.

For the FEBRUARY CHALLENGE (and my first leap of participation) we were given an image and this was my interpretation of "Soulful".

And amazingly and happily, I won the months challenge! great start to my digital art life, and thankyou Gail for the honour and of course fabby prize!

I am fast becoming obsessed with digital art, and by the day am discovering awesome places that like minded artists are gathering on the interwebs! Over the course of producing my blog, I promise to give you lots of links to these great people.

First Post

So long since I blogged this may take a while to get my head around. Wish me luck!
